Hello, World.

I build modern web experiences and software solutions.

Welcome to scon.es. Despite the domain, there are no baked goods here—just a collection of my professional engineering work and my fun, quirky side projects.

About Me

A little bit about the human (or cybernetic scone) behind the code.

My name is Owen Dyckhoff, from the South Wales Valleys. In a past life, I was a Computer Science graduate from Aberystwyth University, working for a web hosting company in DevOps/3rd-Line support, tackling pretty much anything from server administration, developing internal tools, and providing support to customers.

Nowadays, I'm a Controller of Site Safety in a Permanent Way work group, subcontracting on the railways to deliver re-lays, S&C builds, and track refurbishments/maintenance. I started ~8 years ago as a basic track worker, providing general labour. I still do, but with the added safety responsibilities.

Despite my dramatic career change, I still enjoy designing and building websites and software. I am particularly passionate about creating accessible designs for screen-readers, people with eyesight issues & colour vision deficiencies, and producing intuitive interfaces with good supporting documentation. I am capable in many varied programming/scripting languages, and proficient in working with many architectures and frameworks, so I am confident that I will be able to find solutions that meet your needs!

Serious Projects

In-Development and Production-ready applications and professional software engineering.

Silly Projects

Fun experiments, mini-games, and things built just because.
